The walls between the cabins are very thin. You can hear conversations quite easily. Even normal inside voice conversations. I would assume the other side could hear us as well as we them.
With a nice piece of beach, the resort promises a number of options for lake fun -- kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, inflatables. They had a nice inflatable water bounce house type thing about 200' off the beach. It looked like great fun. Until I got closer and realized it was almost entirely deflated. Every time the kids would jump on it, the rubber would fold in on them and nearly surround them in the water. These are not supposed to look or act like this. It took days before anyone seemed to care.
The shower leaked. That was a gem. Water dripped into the room below.
Really good for fishing
Our grill at the cabin...I opened it one day and bits of metal fell off it. A rack was twisted and bent by some previous occupant, the grill was full of grease and trash.
Leech Lake itself is a stunning fishing spot. The fishing was quite nice. Nice boat dock area, fish cleaning for tips. Bait and fuel sales.
Several cabin options. Nice cabins. Beach. Docks for boats in protected cove. Canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats free to use for patrons.
With all the little screwups, it adds up to a big screwup. And it was NOT a cheap place to stay.
I come here every year!!! We have tons of fun!
The beds were a special kind of horrifying. Literally the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on in my life. No mattress pad, by the way, and very thin sheets provided. For 7 days, I awoke in excruciating pain. My entire family did. The kids barely slept, my wife and I barely slept. I tried three different beds and all were uniquely awful.
Yeah, we're on vacation but watching some Netflix in the evening sounded great using the Wifi. No, the wifi was totally unusable. Not even for web browsing. Not even for email. Maybe for internet circa 1994 it would have been amazing.
The swimming pool looked and smelled like a storm drain. The water was profoundly milky, murky, and filled with bandaids and leaves. No swimming pool should look this way. You can get sick from poorly maintained pools so we didn't dare swim in it.
I stayed here for a week this past summer. While promising at the outset, I was not particularly impressed. The cabin was barely cleaned. It was superficially cleaned, but our carpets were dingy, dirty.
If it was just one or two things, even three, I think it would have been a much better experience. But you start adding up all the little annoyances and when you're list of annoyances gets long enough, you get irritated.
Paddleboats were in such disrepair, with holes in them, pedals broken, rudder broken, that they were unusable for any length of time. The canoes had tiny little wooden paddles, not full size paddles. Great fun if you are a dwarf. Full-sized adult, not so much.
Well kept place....must visit...
