This is my 5th year staying there and always will go back. The fishing is always amazing but more importantly the experience we had this year is why Doug and Acorn Hill have customers for life. We had Significant Motor problems on our boat not a rental at about 1130 at night and were stranded about 3 miles from resort heading home from another amazing fishing outing. We called into Doug who I'd bet anything was already sleeping. He came immediately but what was more impressive is he didn't say one word other than I'm so sorry you guys are going through this. He never once grumbled under his breath or anything. I'm sure that's the last thing he wanted to do at midnight which is tow us home 3 miles at a turtle speed. The cabins are clean the staff is always helpful and courteous. I would recommend anyone to stay there they won't be sorry.
The cabins are sparse, but comfortable enough. The location is a little further than preferable from town. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The amenities are good, except their hot tub which always seems to be malfunctioning.
Great resort, cabins are nice, people are very friendly. The beach was great the pool and playground also were nice they gave the kids plenty to do. Fishing wasn't good but they can't control that. Next year we'll get a guide. Beautiful lake, bugs weren't bad, had a fire every evening it was a pleasure staying at Acorn Hills.
The cabin with a full kitchen made it easy for us to make meals for the family. Enough beds for 6. I wish the biting flies were controlled somehow. It was miserable to be outside. Deep woods 100% deet spray was not helping. I wish the hot tub and pool area was open past 8PM...that is pretty odd for a resort to shut that down so early.
This is the best resort you could ever stay at! Doug the owner is by far the best resort owner I have ever come across! He will go above and beyond for his guests to make sure they have the best time possible! If you're going to Leech Lake, there is no place else I would ever consider staying!
